ACB arrests four senior officials in Telangana sheep distribution scam
HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) made four arrests on Thursday in connection with the Criminal Misappropriation Case (RCO) involving officials of the Telangana Animal Husbandry Department and the Sheep distribution scheme scam.
The officials arrested are Dr. D. Ravi, holding the position of Assistant Director at the Area Veterinary Hospital in Kamareddy (AO-3); Dr. M. Aditya Kesava Sai, serving as Assistant Director at DV & AHO in Medchal (AO-4); Pasula Raghupathi Reddy, appointed as District Ground Water Officer in Ranga Reddy District (AO-5); and Sangu Ganesh, currently serving as Deputy Director in the Adult Education Department (AO-6).
The apprehended officials are accused of collaborating with private individuals to establish fraudulent benami accounts and siphon off government funds amounting to nearly 2.10 crores. They allegedly abused their authority and engaged in dishonest practices, resulting in substantial financial losses to the government coffers.
The arrested officials were apprehended on Thursday around 1 pm and are currently being presented before the First Additional Special Judge for ACB cases in Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.
