Hyderabad: Over 100 Telugus stranded at Abu Dhabi airport

Hyderabad:Â More than 100 Telugu passengers travelling from the United States to India were stranded at Abu Dhabi International Airport on Saturday, February 28.
The Etihad Airways flight from the US had stopped in Abu Dhabi as part of its scheduled transit. The aircraft was to arrive at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, on Saturday afternoon.
However, it remained grounded after airstrikes were reported in Iran.
Abu Dhabi airspace closed after nearby attacks
Airstrikes were reported near Abu Dhabi airport on Saturday afternoon, prompting authorities to close the city’s airspace. Following the closure, several incoming and outgoing flights were either delayed or put on hold.
The Telugu passengers were asked to remain inside the terminal as airport operations were temporarily suspended. Many of them were headed to Hyderabad and other parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
