SRH v PBKS: Kavya and Preity steal the IPL show in Hyderabad

SRH v PBKS IPL 2025 match: As the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) chased the mammoth total set by Punjab Kings (PBKS) during the 27th match of the IPL 2025 tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, in Hyderabad, Saturday, two ladies in the stands stole the limelight of the electrifying clash.

Off the field Kavya Maran, co-owner and head of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings owner Preity Zinta were grabbing equal attention. The Bollywood-actress-turned-IPL owner was seen wearing a red dress, which is the primary color of Punjab Kings’ jersey.

Preity was spotted cheering for the players as the openers of PBKS Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh started the match on an impressive note. The opening pair destroyed the SRH bowling attack.

After Arya’s dismissal, Shreyas Iyer joined Singh at the crease to keep the momentum going. Iyer played some excellent shots. He slammed a straight six over long-on. Preity was seen clapping and encouraging her team throughout the match. The PBKS owner’s aura of cool composure was already a talking point as cricket fans started drawing parallels between the two leading ladies in the stadium and #PreityZinta and #Kavya started trending on X (formerly Twitter).

On the contrary, people noticed that Kavya Maran was riding a rollercoaster of emotions. She was seen sulking when the PBKS batsmen performed exceptionally well in the first innings against her team, especially when Arya showed his aggressive style of batting with sixers.

Cricket fans know that Kavya’s passion for her team is as intense as ever. She would keep her calm when PBKS batsmen slammed boundaries and when a crucial wicket fell, she would jump with joy hoping that her team would overcome the shortcomings and turn the tables.

Meanwhile, SRH won the match by 8 wickets with 9 balls remaining. Chasing a 246 target set by the PBKS, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head got Sunrisers Hyderabad a brilliant start, as the duo slammed a 171-run stand, before Head was dismissed. Sharma posted the highest individual score by an Indian player. He slammed his maiden IPL ton in just 40 balls.
