17 pubs found violating noise regulations in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A joint inspection by three teams from the police and the Pollution Control Board revealed serious violations among local entertainment establishments. A total of 17 pubs were discovered operating without the necessary entertainment licenses and exceeding permissible sound levels, contributing to significant noise pollution on September 27, 2024.
These actions violate the Environment Protection Act of 1986, the Hyderabad City Police Act, and the Cyberabad Metropolitan Area Police Act of 2004.
As a result of the inspections, authorities have registered cases against all 17 establishments. Additionally, their sound systems were seized as part of the enforcement action.
Officials are advising all pubs and entertainment venues to obtain the required police licenses and permissions to operate within designated hours. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in appropriate legal action.
According to the Hyderabad City Police Act and the Cyberabad (Metropolitan Area) Police Act 2004, along with the Rules of 2005 section 3 (1), it is required to obtain a Police License in order to operate a public place of halt, place of entertainment, amusement establishment, pubs, etc. This is to ensure that the operation of such establishments does not cause inconvenience, delay, danger, or damage to the residents or people passing by in the vicinity.
