12 sex workers apprehended in Cyberabad anti-trafficking operation

Hyderabad: Twelve individuals were apprehended on March 28, 2025, by the Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTU) of Cyberabad for being involved in sex work, which is illegal under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. The operation took place at Bhagyanagar Bus Stop near KPHB Metro Station, Kukatpally, and Madhapur.
Under the supervision of the DCP, W&CSW, Cyberabad, the operation resulted in the arrest of twelve sex workers. Cases have been registered against them at the Kukatpally, KPHB, and Gachibowli police stations. The individuals have been bound over by the DCP to ensure good behavior.
This operation follows a similar one conducted earlier by the same teams, which led to the arrest of sixteen individuals. Cases were also filed at the concerned police stations, and those arrested were bound over for good behavior before being released with notices under Section 35 of the BNSS Act.
The Cyberabad Police continue to strictly enforce laws against prostitution and related activities. Regular operations are carried out to prevent and eliminate such illegal activities, ensuring the safety of the community.
