Telangana 108 staff brave dark night, walk 2km to rescue train passenger

HYDERABAD: In a remarkable act of dedication, two emergency medical technicians from the 108 ambulance service walked nearly two kilometres along a railway track in the early hours of Thursday to rescue a passenger who had fallen from a moving train.
The incident occurred around 03.00 AM near Ghanpur railway station in Jangaon district, Telangana. The passenger, identified as Avinash, a native of Ballarshah and a traveller on the Dakshin Express from Hyderabad, reportedly slipped and fell onto the tracks

Upon receiving the distress call, the 108 ambulance crew rushed to the spot but found that the location was inaccessible by road. Displaying exceptional commitment, the technicians carried medical equipment and trekked along the railway line in the dark to reach Avinash, who was lying with serious injuries.
Officials said that the team provided first aid at the site and later transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. Railway authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the fall.
